Orit Lahav, Director of Program Development and Army-Society Connections at the National Program Yated within the Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs. She was a partner in the planning and establishment of the program, designed to improve the situation of young men and women along the continuum of risk and crisis, and which encompasses collaborations with government ministries, the Israel Defense Forces, the National Service, the National Insurance Institute, NGOs, and philanthropic foundations. In her role, she is responsible for managing the connection with the IDF and the programs developed in partnership with it, as well as for developing national services and programs across regional clusters and local authorities. Previously, she served as a National Supervisor in the Youth Services Department; a social worker in Jerusalem’s Youth Advancement Services; Director of Emergency Foster Families at the Summit Institute; and National Director of a program for youth in conflict with the law at Yedidim. Orit holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Haifa and a master’s degree in Social Work from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is also a graduate of a Parent-Child Psychotherapy program at the University of California. She lives in Tzur Hadassah, is married, and is the mother of three.
