Israel Almasi is the CEO of the Yedidim organization, which serves as a civic anchor in routine and emergency times, and has 65,000 volunteers throughout the country providing non-medical first aid to all citizens, while connecting people from all spectrums of society. The organization’s management is entirely voluntary, and its activities are funded through collaborations between the business and third sectors. In addition, Israel is the Deputy CEO of the TLC business group; and also lectures to various audiences on social entrepreneurship, vision and leadership, growth from crisis, and raising awareness for the value of volunteering. Israel did his national service at the Or Yarok Association, where he taught safety courses to young drivers to prevent road accidents. He lit a torch on Israel’s 72nd Independence Day ceremony and received the President of Israel’s Award for Volunteering. He lives in Givat Shmuel, is married to Tzipi, is a father of five, and is committed to a daily study of a page of Gemara in a havruta (study partnership) with his eldest son. A man who believes in people, and especially in the connection between them, he strives to promote the phrase “Together we will win,” particularly in times of routine.
